New Music: Pixie Lott - "Nasty" (Studio Version)
British singer Pixie Lott has called in and visited the studios of as many radio stations as it was possible this morning/afternoon (January 10th) to premiere her brand new single "Nasty". The naughty, funky-jazzy track is the lead single from sweet Pixie's forthcoming self-titled third studio album, due in stores later in 2014 via Mercury Records.
Pixie debuted "Nasty" last night during the 2014 BRIT Awards Nominations Event with a live performance. She did not sing the full version of the song, though, forcing fans to wait for the radio premiere that took place today. Listen to a radio rip of "Nasty" below in which we can hear Pixie introducing the single, and talking a bit about it.
"Nasty" is a track originally recorded by Christina Aguilera, as a duet with Cee Lo Green. The song was rumored to be included on either "Lotus" or the "Burlesque" soundtrack, but neither of those got to have "Nasty" on their final tracklistings. Ultimately, Christina passed on "Nasty", until, across the pond, Ms Pixie Lott picked it up and made it her "return" single. "Nasty" will most likely be released officially in the UK in early February!
