Zayn Malik Debuts New Song "It's You" With LIVE Performance On "Jimmy Fallon": Watch
Former One Direction star Zayn Malik appeared last night, February 17th, on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”. It was believed that in this TV appearance he would offer the first ever live performance of his current smash hit “Pillow Talk”, but oh! what a surprise - well, actually not really a total surprise considering the tweets he sent out hours before his performance - when he opted to perform a new, unheard song from his upcoming debut solo album “Mind of Mine” (out March 25) instead.
The song he chose to sing is titled “It’s You” and it’s a heart-break-themed ballad. Most certainly about a past relationship of Zayn’s.
“It’s You” sounds like a futuristic R&B record and it’s a perfect song for Zayn to showcase his pretty-good vocals. Oh gosh, the way he nailed that high-pitched “It’s youuuuu” note in the chorus…pure slayage. Zayn really made us connect with the song because his interpretation of the lyrics were so real and believable. Plus, besides the interesting theme of the song, and Zayn’s vocal ability display, we should really cherish the exquisite modern R&B production of “It’s You”. Who produced this heavenly thing?
I am so excited about March 25th - the date Zayn’s first solo album arrives in stores. I’m just super convinced I’m going to like all of the songs.
PS: Although I’m really loving “It’s You”, I do feel a bit sad for “Pillow Talk”. The truth is that I was really excited about seeing the first live performance of the song. Hopefully this will occur soon.
