World Premiere: Calvin Harris (feat. John Newman) - "Blame" [Audio]
After the massive success of his single “Summer” this summer (which saw the return of Calvin as a lead singer), the Scottish DJ is ready to give the world the follow-up. He’s stepping off the singing duties again, though, as the new Calvin Harris single - "Blame" - features John Newman. The English singer took the European charts by storm with his debut single “Love Me Again” and even charted within the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. Now Calvin is giving John the opportunity to increase his stardom status by recruiting him for his new EDM smash which is sure to be a favourite in all clubs around the world this Fall.
Calvin had been posting teasers of “Blame” on Instagram in the last few days, but today (September 4th) saw - at last - the full premiere of the new single via radio. The John Newman-assisted song will be released in the UK (iTunes) on September 7th. The Emil Nava-directed music video will premiere the same day. [Read More]
“Blame” single review
“Blame it on the night / Don't blame it on me”, sings John to the lady who just woke up in his bed in the Calvin Harris single. “Blame” hasn’t honestly hit as hard as “Summer” did on the first listen, but I’ll definitely label it as a “grower”. Not really feeling John’s verses, but he really shines in the let’s-go-to-church hook. “Blame” doesn’t have the best Calvin Harris EDM beat I’ve heard to date, but I can still bop to it. Anyway, I'm sure the only thing I need is to put my best clothes, go to the club, grab a drink, get tipsy and go crazy to the "Blame" break on the dancefloor to fully love it.
