World Premiere: Beyonce - "Formation" [Single Review + Music Video]
Surprise! (Damn, she always gets us). Queen Beyoncé just dropped by surprise a brand new song titled “Formation” on Tidal (available for free download for a limited time) and premiered the music video on YouTube at the same time today, February 6th - the day before she’s set to perform at the 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show with Coldplay. This surprise premiere of this specific song today makes it clear that Beyoncé will perform “Formation” tomorrow.
The urban jam, which knocks really hard, hears Beyoncé addressing her haters and bragging about her wealth.
As for the “Formation” music video, it sees the R&B songstress chilling on top of a police car in a flooded New Orleans, serving posh black lady from yore vibes, performing choreographies left and right or serving fierce swagger all throughout. There’s also a cameo from Blue Ivy (Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter), and images/footage that are definitely there to show support to the “Black Lives Matter” movement.
Is “Formation” part of Beyoncé’s much-anticipated sixth studio album? That she hasn’t confirmed yet – but it might be. When will her new album drop? Most likely, in a similar fashion to 2013’s “BEYONCÉ”, the queen will give her new album to us by surprise. Do you imagine she if drops it after the Super Bowl? OMG, that would break the Internet.
Hit or Miss?
