Who Is Lecrae? Listen To #1 iTunes Song "All I Need Is You" / Pisses Nicki Minaj Off
Grammy-award winning rapper LeCrae has become Nicki Minaj's latest headache. Just as Her Minajesty was popping champagnes bottles to celebrate the #1 climb of her latest single ”Anaconda”, she was quickly (well, in a matter of a few hours but still...) ousted by Christian hip hop artist LeCrae and his new single “All I Need Is You”. The God-praising track is the latest iTunes countdown single – available for purchase since last night August 4th alongside the pre-order of his new album - from the rapper's upcoming SEVENTH studio CD "Anomaly”, which is dropping in stores on September 9th. Did you know LeCrae? Neither did I! But I do know him, and so does Nicki Minaj.
Actually, LeCrae has been industry for a quite a while. As I mentioned, "Anomaly” is going to be his seventh album. His debut “Real Talk” was released in 2005. LeCrae is currently signed to independent label Reach Records (although I have the feeling that for not too long), and he won a Grammy for 'Best Gospel Album' for his 2012 album "Gravity”, which opened with sales of 72,000 copies and debuting at #3 in the U.S.
Now in 2014, LeCrae’s new LP "Anomaly” is coming in September, and his new song – soon to be upgraded to official single – is topping the US iTunes chart and giving Nicki Minaj a headache (although I have the feeling "Anaconda" will return to #1 soon, but still LeCrae has ruined Nicki's 'new #1' night). I foresee only good things from now on for 34-year-old Texas rapper Lecrae Moore. Getting a #1 on iTunes SO FAST is a pretty huge deal ("Anaconda" need one whole day) and certainly major labels will notice!
“All I Need Is You” song review
I’m impressed. I had never heard of LeCrae nor listened to any of his music, but I’m quite enjoying “All I Need Is You”. I mean, I may not be a hardcore Christian nor is the Lord the only thing I need in my life, but I am feeling LeCrae’s song a lot.
Great hip hop beat, great rap delivery and those “all I need is you!" (female?) adlibs are slaying big time at the moment.
