What Is Maroon 5 Trying To Say With This Pokemon GO-Inspired “Don’t Wanna Know” Music Video? Watch Now!
Hilarious! But I also think there’s a deeper meaning.
Maroon 5 premiered the music video for their song “Don’t Wanna Know” today (Oct. 14) on VEVO.
Directed by David Dobkin, the “Don’t Wanna Know” video sees Adam Levine and Maroon 5 mocking the Pokemon GO game app. All the band members, and some Hollywood friend of Adam’s, will be dressed in Pokemon-like creatures costumes and they will be chased down throughout the entire city of Los Angeles by swarms of people who just want to ‘capture’ them with their phones.
Watching Adam in that turtle-like costume throughout the whole video was both funny and cute. It didn’t suit him that bad actually…
Oh, and I say that I think this video has a deeper, hidden meaning because if you notice all of the non-band members in creatures costumes are real Hollywood, entertainment/sports industry stars and I think Maroon 5 is also trying to demonstrate in a way too with this Pokemon GO-chasing down concept that this is how some famous people living in L.A also feel. They’re constantly being followed by people and they're seeing how their privacy is not being respected.
“Don’t Wanna Know” is taken from Maroon 5’s upcoming sixth studio album.
Poor Kendrick Lamar got the chop in this video.
