Watch: Lady Gaga Performs All New Music at '2013 iTunes Festival' In London [Full]
Lady Gaga opened the 2013 iTunes Festival, to be held during the entire month of September at The Roundhouse in London. As promised, the New York-born pop star performed 'all new music' as the setlist of her much-anticipated concert. The September 1st show lasted just over one hour, and it featured eight tracks from Gaga's forthcoming studio album "Artpop", due in stores worldwide on November 11.
Stefani opened with "Aura" (leaked in full already), and continued with "MANiCure", before changing wigs and get almost entirely naked, to perform the album's title track, "Artpop". "Artpop", the song, turned out to be a huge suprise. It's slow, nothing 'Gaga weird', and it's catchy. This needs to be single! Next, Gaga forgot about the 'pop', and brought the 'hip hop', premiering a new song called "Jewels and Drugs" featuring rappers Too $hort, T.I., and Twista. They all appeared on stage to support Lady Gaga with the exception of T.I, who was not allowed inside the UK. Good to see Twista back in action!
After the hip hop moment, Gaga returned to pop once again to mesmerize and entice fans at The Roundhouse with "Sex Dreams". A very vintage Janet Jackson-esque sounding record. The follow-up song was "Swine", to which Gaga made a long introduction speech. Flying 'Little Piggies' took the stage by storm. The penultimate song was a ballad titled "I Wanna Be With You", which Gaga said she wrote during the last days of last year's "Born This Way Ball" when she knew her hip pain was going to force her to cancel the remaining dates of the tour And for the big closing, Gaga made the crowd dance to the mighty and infectious beat of her hit single "Applause". Re-watch her full concert below!
