Watch: Fun. Debut New Song 'Harsh Lights' on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'
Were you expecting this? Because I wasn’t! Fun.
caught everyone by surprise when they were announced as last-minute guest performers
on the June 18th episode of ‘The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon' where they
performed a brand new track, and brand new single, maybe? ‘Harsh Lights’ looks
like it is the first single from Fun.'s forthcoming third studio album, due in
stores later in 2014.
‘Harsh Lights’ sounds AMAZING! What is Warner
Bros. Music waiting to release this ASAP? I can totally see this slaying radio
RIGHT NOW!
The song is very Fun. sound-wise. It’s very
anthemic, it's perfect for the live shows, and this type of melodies is just
the band’s signature. For instance, when Nate penned and co-produced ‘Just Give Me Reason’ for Pink, you just knew someone from Fun. had to be involved in the
recording of the song, because the melody screamed ‘Fun.’. Well, that’s the
case of ‘Harsh Lights’.
As for the debut live performance on ‘The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon' on Wednesday night, it was fantastic. It was 100% live and Fun. rocked the stage (and the crowd!). Don’t mind Nate’s pitchy vocals, by the way, because that’s his 'style' too. I mean, we all know he can sing… just take a quick look back when he hits those high notes (where Nate feels most comfortable).
