Watch Beyoncé & Dixie Chicks Perform “Daddy Lessons” Country Remix at 2016 CMA Awards + Studio Version Now Available!
Last night, November 2nd, at the 2016 CMA Awards, a ceremony held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, what was important wasn’t who performed nor who won what, but the surprise appearance of superstar of the world Beyoncé, who together with the Dixie Chicks (yeah, didn’t you hear they’re back?), hit the center to perform the “Lemonade” stand-out song “Daddy Lessons”. And of course Beyoncé and the Dixie Chicks didn’t perform the original version of the album but countrified a bit. The final result couldn’t have been more spectacular. I never imagined Beyoncé’s music could sound so well in the country genre.
Wearing one of her typical classy/sexy gowns, Beyoncé, who seemed like a giant standing next to the Dixie Chicks, didn’t only make her “Daddy Lessons” song sound country, for she also added country characteristics to her live singing, which made the performance look more unique. And of course, although it was a given, the crowd went wild when Queen B appeared on stage. Among them, Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey couldn’t stop clapping for Beyoncé from his seat all throughout the performance. Who knew he was a member of the Beyhive?
In view of last night’s performance at the CMA Awards, do you think there’s a possibility that in the medium term Beyoncé will record a full country album, or maybe an album filled with country versions of her biggest hits? You can bet anything that LP would sell like hotcakes!
By the way, immediately after last night’s performance, Beyoncé uploaded on her SoundCloud page the official studio version of this “Daddy Lessons” country remix. Enjoy both the live and the studio versions below!
