[Video] Lorde Covers James Blake's "Retrograde" In Auckland Concert
Mere days after winning two Grammys, Lorde returned to New Zealand where she was scheduled to perform a homecoming concert before 10,000 people at Silo Park. The show took place today, January 29th, in Auckland and it was a rousing success. An emotional Lorde couldn't hold back to share her joy for her Grammy wins with the crowd; "I'm sorry for swearing but I f****** won two Grammys."
During her concert, Lorde performed the entirety of her debut album "Pure Heroine", as well as a cover. The 17-year-old singer chose to sing James Blake's "Retrograde". The English singer's single did not achieve much success in the UK, only peaking at #87, but it was, nevetheless, praised by many and was even included on Rolling Stones' "100 Best Songs of 2013", sitting at #8, behind JT's "Mirrors".
Lorde's "Retrograde" rendition was so raw, emotional, heartfelt, and well-sung of course. The negative? She's got to stop looking like she's having a stroke on stage.
