Vanessa Carlton Premieres New Song “Blue Pool”: Indie Anthem Of The Summer? (STREAM)
Before her new studio album “Liberman” arrives in stores in October, “A Thousand Miles” singer Vanessa Carlton will release a 4-song EP titled “Blue Pool” on July 24.
That’s right. “Rabbits on the Run” is finally going to get a follow-up four years later, but first, we will have the “Blue Pool” EP as hors-d'oeuvre. The main course, “Liberman” (Dine Alone Records), will be served three months later.
The first single from “Blue Pool” is the title track. Vanessa had it world premiere earlier this week via Nylon’s magazine website. As officially described, the song is “an addictive, daydream-inducing track with wistful melodies and an ominous message”.
I’m personally loving the minimalist production, Vanessa’s exquisite vocals and piano playing, and although I’m not fully convinced what’s “Blue Pool” about, it doesn’t really matter because the song as a whole moves so much that I feel it could teleport me to Wanderland or something. Loves it. Do we have here “the indie song of the 2015 summer”?
SO looking forward to “Blue Pool” EP and “Liberman”!!!
