Union J - "Tonight (We Live Forever)" [Music Video]
Union J (another boyband hailing from the UK) just premiered on VEVO the music video for “Tonight (We Live Forever)”. The sort-of-anthemic pop song is confirmed to be serving as the lead single from Union J’s forthcoming yet-untitled sophomore studio album (their self-titled debut was released in October last year). “Tonight (We Live Forever)” will be officially released in the UK (iTunes included) on August 17th.
I very much enjoyed Union J’s debut album, and it definitely deserved to perform better than it did. Much of the blame has to be put on their label(s), RCA / Syco, though - they did an awful job picking out the singles - but it seems RCA put the blame on Union J as they eventually dropped them! Fortunately for Union J fans, they band got a new deal with Epic Record UK earlier this year, however, it seems this new record deal has 'messed up’ Union J’s career even more. Why? I’m not feeling “Tonight (We Live Forever)” AT ALL. The song feels like it was recorded/created with rush. The melody and structure of the song don’t sound too appealing, and overall the song isn’t easy to sing along. I’m not fond of the song, and I hope Union J / Epic Records don't take too long to release 'single 2' once they see the poor performance "Tonight" will have when it gets released in August. They just need a good pure-pop song!
Review of the “Tonight (We Live Forever)” music video
I get the ‘big house party with my friends’ theme. It fits the lyrics and vibe of the song. Great fashion and hair by the ‘lads’ - as usual – and I liked the ‘we’re out of power’ scene!
