Unexpected! Justin Bieber & MØ To Feature On Major Lazer’s Upcoming Single “Cold Water”: Will There Be Chemistry?
Justin Bieber and Danish singer MØ, as in the “Lean On” singer, in a same song! I’m not talking nonsense, this is reality. Well, it will be reality in a few weeks when Major Lazer premiere their new single “Cold Water”, which will be part of the production team’s forthcoming new studio album, allegedly titled “Music Is The” Weapon”, that will be released later in 2016 via Interscope. "Music Is The Weapon” would become the official follow-up to last year’s Major Lazer’s album ““Peace Is the Mission” - which spawned hits like “Lean On” or “Light It Up”.
We actually kind of already knew that Major Lazer and Justin Bieber had recorded something in the studio thanks to a bizarre Twitter conversation Diplo and the “Sorry” singer had earlier in May. Don’t know what I’m talking about? See for yourself below.
@diplo when are we bringing this new music?

@diplo @MAJORLAZER it's happening

However, what we didn’t know was that this was going to be a collaboration with MØ too (Major Lazer’s official muse), we didn’t know the title, and we didn’t know who the main artist of the song was going to be. Some people thought it was going to be part of a “Purpose” re-issue! But nop - now we know everything, and we know it’s a Major Lazer single.
Will this unexpected duo made of Justin Bieber and MØ work in a song? I mean, this will definitely be either a great song or a great mess. If it weren't for Justin and MØ's association with Major Lazer, I'm sure these two would have never recorded a song together. They just don't seem to be a natural hit. And by the way, who will sing what? Justin the verses, and MØ the choruses? Or viceversa? So many questions!
Diplo himself announced all of this about “Cold Water” on his “The Lazer Sound” radio show on Beats 1 yesterday (May 30th). Diplo also said that the song would premiere “in the coming weeks”. Most likely it will have its first play on his radio show.
