Troye Sivan Deals With Two Deaths In “Talk Me Down” Music Video: Not For The Faint Of Heart!
What!? This is not the ending I was expecting at all. *heart breaks*
Troye Sivan, Australia’s newest export, premiered the music video for his new single “Talk Me Down” on VEVO today (Oct. 21). As predicted this is the third and last part of his “Blue Neighbourhood” visual series that first started with the “Wild” music video (that told the story of how Troye and his childhood boyfriend fell in love), and continued with the “Fools” music video (that told the story of how Troye and his boyfriend had to break up due to the boyfriend’s dad’s disapproval). In this new Tim Mattia-directed visual for “Talk Me Down”, the official lead single from the Aussie singer’s forthcoming full-length debut album, aptly titled “Blue Neighbourhood” and due in stores on December 4th, the story centers on the death of the ex-boyfriend’s father. The ex-boyfriend is now dating a girl, he’s apparently “turned” straight, and it’s with her with whom he attends the funeral at the cemetery. Troye also attends, because he feels he should be there, but is paid no attention by his ex. Once the funeral is over and everyone goes his or her way, Troye opts to remain seated on some stairs. Suddenly the ex approaches and they engage into a big hug. When the girlfriend spots them, the ex-boyfriend leaves Troye and abandons the scene holding hands with his girl. Troye is left heart-broken. The final scene sees the ex-boyfriend committing suicide by jumping off a cliff into the ocean.
What!? Double what!? and triple what!? Did the ex-boyfriend really convert into a fully straight man due to some terrible brainwash by the dad (see part 2 of the series)? Did the ex-boyfriend still have love feelings for Troye but he felt a life as a straight man was more peaceful and he didn’t want to hurt the girl and let his dad down? Why did he commit suicide? OMG! This last video of the “Blue Neighbourhood” series has just ruined my day! Poor Troye.
