The Vamps Join The “Kung Fu Panda” World In Their “Kung Fu Fighting” Music Video: Watch
Although The Vamps may have hit rock bottom with their second studio album “Wake Up” – as it’s performed far worse in sales in comparison to their debut “Meet The Vamps” – Bradley and Co. should still feel relatively happy, for they are still getting called for gigs.
Not along ago DreamWorks Animation called the British band up to offer them the position of singers of the theme song from the new “Kung Fu Panda” movie; “Kung Fu Panda 3” (in theatres tomorrow, January 29th). Evidently (because they are not fools, and they know that after the underperformance of “Wake Up” gigs will be scarce and they should accept everything they’re offered), the band said yes.
“Kung Fu Fighting” is the title of the song The Vamps recorded for “Kung Fu Panda 3” (Update: it's actually a cover of this) and I have to say it’s a nice little song for not only does it fit well with the “Kung Fu” vibe and theme, it also goes well with the sound and essence of The Vamps. As I previously mentioned in a The Vamps-related post a few weeks ago, the British band is not evolving music-wise, and is remaining in that “too bubblegum, lazy, easy, infantile, teenage, juvenile” sound that they debuted with all the way back in 2013, so recording a trivial song for a kids’ movie like “Kung Fu Panda 3” – which requires to sound exactly like the sound they have - must’ve been a piece of cake task for them.
The music video for The Vamps’ “Kung Fu Fighting” song premiered last night, January 27th, on VEVO. The video shows the members of band diving into the “Kung Fu Panda” world, showing off their basic-level skills of Kung Fu and eating Chinese food, and the exploitation of the good-looks of lead vocalist of Brad Simpson by showing him shirtless taking a bubble bath. Oh, and we will be seen unseen-to-date footage of the upcoming “Kung Fu Panda 3” film.
