Here it is. Taylor Swift’s “Out of the Woods” music video.
Directed by Joseph Kahn, the music video for the new single from “1989” (long live this album!) is said to have been shot in New Zealand. And for its world premiere, Taylor couldn’t have picked a more perfect moment: Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ with Ryan Seacrest on ABC. At 10:50pm ET last night, December 31st, 2015, the “Out of the Woods” music video was unveiled on national American television. A few minutes later, the entire video was available on VEVO.
About “Out of the Woods”, Tay-Tay said this a long time ago:
“Of all the songs on the album that seem to be about Styles, the most intriguing one is “Out of the Woods”. Every day was a struggle. Forget making plans for life – we were just trying to make it to next week.”
The stunning and high-budget music video begins with Taylor, in a beautiful blue dress, entering some spooky, magical woods. Immediately after, she will be chased by a pack of angry wolfs. When the wolfs are about to get they, they manage to tear a section of Taylor’s dress, upon falling on the ground, Taylor will find herself in a different place: in a snowy valley. The chasing will continue there until the former country singer jumps off a cliff towards the open ocean. But she will not stay for long in the water, for she will suddenly drop into a desert (WTF? This video is truly messing up with my mind!). From there on, the rest of the “Out of the Woods” video will see Taylor wandering again in the woods from the first scenes, the same snowy valley, diving into deep waters, walking across the woods on fire, and in the last scene, she will exit, at last, the woods, and will approach a girl standing on the shore of the beach who will look very familiar…
