Taio Cruz - 'Fast Car' (Music Video)
It's been two long years since "Dynamite" - his last hit single - and Taio Cruz already needs a new Billboard Hot 100 smash if he doesn't want to get lost, for good....And for this reason Island Records booked Taio a studio session with hit-maker Max Martin to see if he could come up with a new hit for him...the result? This new dance/pop track "Fast Car", which got released on iTunes in early August!
So...is it a hit? Well, it ain't bad, but it ain't no "Dynamite" or "Break My Heart". Max Martin definitely gave "Fast Car" a good beat but as a whole it falls a little flat. The chorus is weak. It just doesn't stick in your head. And that's no good news. It doesn't mean Taio can't get "Fast Car" to chart within the Top 40 on the Hot 100 though. I mean, it's a Max Martin-produced song. Missing the Top 40 is just unthinkable! Giving the single a good music video was fundamental too, and Taio just premiered that on VEVO. Watch above! I personally like. The main girl is hot and nails her role. The car racing scenes were dope as well.
