So Ariana Grande’s “R.E.M” Samples THIS Beyoncé Song…
A few weeks ago when Ariana Grande sang a few seconds of her song “R.E.M” (to be included on the forthcoming album “Sweetener”) in an interview, fans immediately noticed the lyrics she sang had some resemblance to the unreleased Beyoncé song “Wake Up”, which saw a low quality snippet leaked on the Internet last year. Fans then took to Twitter to question Ariana about this and only last two days ago they received an answer:
Ariana addresses the reports that “R.E.M.” was initially “Wake Up” an unreleased track by Beyoncé: “it’s an entirely new song now but the hook was so dreamy it had to find a home” ?? pic.twitter.com/63UGmhdZ73

So it’s true. “R.E.M” was born from Beyoncé’s “Wake Up” even though it’s only the chorus Ariana preserved.
And then a miracle happened last night. A Beyoncé fansite leaked the full demo of “Wake Up”, sung by the Blue Ivy mother, in high quality.

Oh my! Beyoncé’s song was a cute bop and Ariana’s “R.E.M” better be too!
