Silk City & Dua Lipa's "Electricity" Is A 'HAIM Meets Jess Glynne' BOP: Listen Here!
My anticipation for this song was high and I have not been disappointed.
Silk City (Diplo and Mark Ronson) and Dua Lipa released this Thursday morning their collaborative single “Electricity”. Alongside the digital release of the track, an accompanying music video was premiered on YouTube. And BOTH I love! “Electricity” is the perfect song to end the summer with and help us transition to fall and the music video is the hottest visual we’ve been Dua Lipa star in. I knew this girl could dance but I didn’t know she could DANCE like this. And what a body! OMG!
The best way to describe “Electricity” is that it is a hybrid between HAIM and Jess Glynne. It’s got the spirit and melodies of a song of the HAIM sisters and a similar production to those iconic hits of the British lady Jess Glynne. In the HAIM case, I find “Electricity” to sound VERY like HAIM’s “Want You Back”. Do you feel it too, that same vibe? I haven’t looked at the credits of “Electricity” but I hope for Diplo ad Mark Ronson’s sake that they’ve included HAIM and the producers of “Want You Back” in the credits if they don’t want to be sued, lol. But hey, rip off or not, I love “Electricity”, it has instantly made this Thursday feel a lot brighter, I now look life with a more positive set of eyes, I love Dua’s voice in it, and I just can’t wait to dance my ass off to a mega remix of this at the club this weekend. The end fo summer feels a lot less tragic with this song now in our lives.
