Selena Gomez won the 'Most Anticipated Tour' category, and Austin Mahone and Cody Simpson performed their new singles; "What About Love", and "Pretty Brown Eyes", respectively. These were pretty much the only highlights of the 2013 Young Hollywood Awards ceremony held at The Broad Stage on August 1 in Santa Monica, California . The so-called 'Oscars of Young Hollywood' seek to "honor and celebrate the accomplishments of emerging young talent throughout the entertainment industry".
Looking very conservative and classy in a high-neck, pencil-skit dress, Selena Gomez took home two awards last night, one for "Fan Favourite Album" and one for "Most Anticipated Tour". Watch her acceptance speech for the latter below. I like Selena but I just CAN'T at the emotion she gives to winning such unimportant award. But I guess too since she knows she won't be getting any VMA, or Grammy anytime soon, she has to take all of these lesser awards as huge triumphs.
In the performances department, rising teen pop talent Austin Mahone treated the audeince at Santa Monica's The Broad Stage with a live rendition of his pop Top 20 hit "What About Love", while Australia's Cody Simpson played the guitar and made a few dance moves as he performed his not-so-successful single "Pretty Brown Eyes".
