RedOne Drops Seriously Star-Studded Music Video For New Single “Don’t You Need Somebody”: Watch
Super producer RedOne, the man behind the productions of many hits by Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez or Nicki Minaj, is going solo for real this year. The Moroccan-Swedish man is said to be releasing later this year his much-anticipated full-length debut album and the song “Don’t You Need Somebody” is the confirmed lead single. This festive, anthemic number was released on iTunes last month and today, June 10th, the official music video was unveiled via RedOne’s YouTube page. And no doubt the video will be making a lot of headlines - and for its budget or treatment, but for all the guests that it features. The list is huge! Singers, bands, sports stars, TV producers and hosts, actors, and even a plastic surgeon! Don’t believe me? That even though this list is amazing, there’s an important absence; that of Enrique Iglesias! (who sings the pre-choruses of the song). What happened there? Why didn’t he send his little self-recorded video as everybody else?
So, the music video may be corny as hell (OMG at Cristiano’s faces) and it has nothing to do with the song, but RedOne’s new single “Don’t You Need Somebody” is pretty nice, and feel-good (it talks about finding and fighting love). Perfect timing to drop it with the summer around the corner, by the way. Could do some damage in the club scene with the appropriate remixes.
Here’s hoping “Don’t You Need Somebody” performs decently on the charts, because who knows… if RedOne gets a hit with this, maybe the next singles will be collaborations with J.LO or Lady Gaga!
