Rachel Platten Premieres New Single "Stand By You": Listen Now!
After taking the charts and Top 40 radios by storm with her breakthrough single "Fight Song", Rachel Platten is ready to try and repeat the same success (or perhaps even improve it) with her follow-up. "Stand By You" was released on iTunes today (Sept. 11) and it will officially go for radio adds on September 14th. "Stand By You" is not included on Rachel's "Fight Song" EP but will appear on the 34-year-old's upcoming new full-length studio album, due in stores within the next few months via Columbia Records.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it, huh? This seems to be Rachel and/or her labels's approach when it comes to the "formula" to use in Rachel's official singles. "Stand By You" literally sounds like "Fight Song" Part 2. And it's also giving me Katy Perry's "Roar" vibes for some reason. Co-written by Jack Antonoff, despite all the "familiarness", I'm totally digging "Stand By You" (so uplifting!), and no doubt radio is going to support it just as much as they supported "Fight Song".
