Pitbull Premieres "Time of Our Lives" (ft. Ne-Yo): Listen!
So underwhelming! The “anticipated” new Pitbull and Ne-Yo collaboration “Time of Our Lives” has just surfaced online and it’s such a disappointment. I had so much fun bopping to their chart-topping smash hit “Give Me Everything” back in 2011 that I’ve been eagerly waiting to hear their “follow-up” – which will appear on Mr. Worldwide’s upcoming eighth studio album “Globalization” due in stores on November 24th via RCA Records – but I’ve been left with such a sad face after the first “play”.
“Time of Our Lives” song review
“Time of Our Lives” is a super mellow EDM track that has an explicit “celebration” theme. Out of the two things I just said I was sure of the “theme” and that it was going to be EDM, but I was not expecting this weird “tempo”, the tired production, and that appalling “old” (kind of “dated”) vibe the song has. “Give me the time of my live”, sings Ne-Yo in the hook of the song. The “Irreplaceable” co-writer takes control of the hooks and bridge, while Pitbull is in charge of the rap verses. No brand new information here, huh? Compared to “Give Me Everything”, “Time of Our Lives” sounds less than b-side. It’s boring, and lazy – and sounds like THAT song that you don’t want the DJ to play at the club because it’s going to kill your mood.
Pitbull’s had 2 long years to work on “Globalization” and the best thing he could record with Ne-Yo was this crap? Come on!
