Pharrell Performs 'Get Lucky' at HTC One Event
Pharrell performed for the first time ever his new single with Daft Punk "Get Lucky" at the HTC One Launch Event at House of Vans in Brooklyn, NYC on April 19.
The new disco-funk song was only released last Friday, and it quickly rose to #1 on many iTunes charts across the planet. People were clearly in need already of new Daft Punk music. Pharrell was so hyped at this HTC event last night he performed "Get Lucky" three times in a row for the lucky audience at House of Vans. The Neptunes leader praised the French producers in a speech at the beginning; "Man these guys that made this record, they're like so far beyond their time. I'm honored to know those guys, those robots", "We just had a lot of incredible history together. So when they called me over the summer, I just remembered thinking one thing. . . ."Try to get lucky, right?". Pharrell was also happily surprised by the massive positive reception to the track; "The song just came out last night, and Brooklyn knows the words", said Pharrell towards the end of his long performance. Again, that's the Daft Punk power!
