OneRepublic Release Seeb-Produced New Single “Rich Love”: Stream
OneRepublic premiered this Friday morning “Rich Love”, the follow-up to “No Vacancy” and therefore the latest single from the band’s forthcoming fifth studio album, which hasn’t been officially announced yet but it’s definitely coming for OneRepublic have released in the latest months, counting “Rich Love”, two new singles that weren’t included on last year’s “Oh My My” album and since these two sound too different from what they included on “Oh My My”, a re-release of that album is totally impossible. So fifth studio album is the only option left. Although OneRepublic’s next album hasn’t been officially announced yet, it all points that it will be here after the summer.

“Rich Love” is a track produced by Norwegian trio Seeb where the verses and the chorus are very pop folk, Avicii-esque, and the post-chorus is an EDM beat drop instrumental. The lyrics are about a couple who are not that interested in money but in having lots and lots of love for each other instead. Ryan Tedder sings: “Cause if we don't find money / With what we got in loving is close enough / We got some rich love”.
I like it but I don’t love it. It’s a cute song but doesn’t it sound somewhat generic as a whole? I like what I hear but it fails to truly excite me. Also, I’ve heard way better Seeb productions, and beat drops. Maybe a nice remix can save the day?
