New Song: Tinie Tempah (feat. 2 Chainz) - "Trampoline"
British rapper Tinie Tempah recruits 2 Chainz for his new single "Trampoline", which premiered on MistaJam's show on BBC 1xtra on Tuesday night (July 2), with Tinie immediately uploading an official lyric video (although it looks more like an actual MV...) on VEVO afterwards. Listen to Tinie Tempah's highly urban new single below!
This ain't bad. I'm always gonna like Tinie's rap swag, and lyrics, I think 2 Chainz is a great addition to the track, and Trampoline's beat is pretty dope and infectious. It's obvious from this Tinie will be pursuing a more 'urban' sound this era, in contrast to the explicit mainstream appeal the songs on his debut album "Disc-Overy" had. It feels very risky, but hopefully Tinie's awesomeness, and fresh talent will prevail. With 'Trampoline' premiering on BBC 1xtra, there's a strong indication mainstream radios in the UK won't be 'eating up' Tinie's new music like in the past with "Pass Out", "Frisky", or "Written in the Stars".
In the hypothetical case that 'Trampoline' and the follow-up urban singles flop, Tinie can just announce an album re-release and pack it album with a bunch of radio-friendly, club-ready jams and he'll be on the top again. I guess he just feels he should make the move to heavy urban to really feel like an accomplished 'rapper'. Tinie's sophomore studio album entitled "Demonstration" will hit UK stores later this year.
