New Song: The-Dream (feat. Jay-Z) - 'High Art'
With the release date of his fifth solo album 'IV Play' approaching on May 28th, The-Dream releases his highly anticipated single 'High Art' featuring Jay-Z.
When I originally saw this collaboration, I figured they were going to follow that slow and smooth sound The-Dream and Fabolous always pull off on their records. I was wrong. Instead Terius and Shawn Carter give us a real energetic and uplifting Summer sound here with 'High Art'. This is exactly the type of single The-Dream needed to help boost those album sales(Not that he cares about those anyways).
Don't expect 'IV Play' to have the same sound as his first three albums as he told VEVO:
'IV Play does a lot of changes that are different from the first three 'Love' LPs that I released, IV Play is me jumping into the future and trying to leave the past behind. It's never been because I couldn't really jump ahead of the game; sometimes people don't like to change things, so sometimes you have to wait for something to completely break until you can get a new one again and get somebody to enjoy it."
Interesting to see what The-Dream has worked up with this project, especially considering he's going for a different sound and he's boasted multiple times in interviews this might be his best album yet. Be on the lookout for the other monster collaboration The-Dream has tucked away with Beyonce and 2 Chainz titled 'Turnt'. You can also catch The-Dream on the road this summer co-headlining his 'Lights Out' tour with Kelly Rowland starting May 24th. Pre-order for 'IV Play' should become available in the coming week. Take a listen to 'High Art' below.
