New Music: You+Me (Pink & Dallas Green) - "You and Me" [Premiere]
Pink fans are going to have to wait a little longer to get her new solo album. The eclectic singer announced today (September 8th) the creation of a new duo named You+Me made of Alecia Moore (Pink herself) and Dallas Green (City and Colour). The two have been friends for a while, have recorded songs together and even shared the same stage many times before, so this duo is just a natural evolution of both her friendship and her musical connection.
You+Me will release their self-titled debut album on October 14th via RCA Records. It’s going to be 10-track album with the first single being a song titled...*drums*...“You and Me” (nice!). 10 songs! That's a lot. So all of this time we have erroneously thought Pink had been recording songs for the “The Truth About Love” follow-up when she was actually in the studio booth with Dallas working on this duo project. Man! I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m super stoked for this new You+Me and the fact this is in the end new Pink music, but I’m super sad we’re going to have to wait till probably mid-2015 to get the new Pink solo album!
“You and Me” single review
Pink and Dallas, I mean, You+Me, are taking the folk-pop route for their debut album. So organic, and so beautiful. The lyrics of the first single "You and Me" are so precious; I don’t think anyone can think of a way to perfect them. They are already perfect. “You and me we belong together / Just like a breath needs the air”, sing the two in the romantic ballad. Couples will be able relate to this song. It speaks of the devoted love two people in a committed relationship feel for each other. This is more than a song, it’s a poem!
