New Music: Union J - 'Tonight (We Live Forever)'
RCA and Syco have decided to give four-piece
boyband Union J a second chance. The ‘X Factor
Thinking Union J’s deal with RCA and Syco was jeopardy, today, June 19, saw the world premiere of a new Union J single called ‘Tonight (We Live Forever)' on Capital FM and immediately after on YouTube via a lyric video. The single is confirmed to be part of an upcoming Union J full-length album. Their second. So RCA and Syco have given the ‘lads’ a new shot, after all. Will they ‘succeed’ (for real) this time?
‘Tonight (We Live Forever)' sounds like a weak
first single, if I’m being honest. There are plenty of tracks on Union J’s
first album better than ‘Tonight’, and that is worrying. The new Union J single is a
pop song with subtle folk and rock elements. The lyrics talk about the unconditional
support of your partner in love whenever you need him/her. Doesn’t the chorus
sound too alike Rixton’s ‘Make Out’? (IT DOES!).
I don’t think ‘Tonight (We Live Forever)' is better than ‘Carry You’ or ‘Beautiful Life’ and therefore I don’t think it deserves a better chart peak to those attained by the before-mentioned. However, if Union J do promote it a lot, release an awesome music video, and get lucky with their first week rivals, then there may be some HOPE for ‘Tonight’.
Union J's 'Tonight' will be released on iTunes UK on August 17th!
