New Music: The Ting Tings - 'Wrong Club'
The Ting Tings are going the Daft Punk route. The
British duo - made of Katie White and Jules De Martino – will return with a
brand new album in 2014, after releasing in 2012 their second album 'Sounds from Nowheresville’, which, well, pretty much tanked on the charts around the
world. For the follow-up album, The Ting Tings complete ditch their previous dance-punk/synthpop
sound that made them score hits such as 'That's No My Name' or 'Shut Up And Let
Me Go' back in the day, and shift to a more Daft Punk in 'Get Lucky' sound. That
is, 70's disco, and Nile Rodgers-sounding guitars. Listen to their upcoming's
third studio album's first single 'Wrong Club' below!
This is good! We're always gonna love the Ting Tings from 'Shut Up And Let Me Go' more though, but this so good, actually! 'Wrong Club' is very ‘Get Lucky’-esque indeed, but to hell with that, because The Ting Tings totally fit well with this 70's disco sound. Katie sounds incredible in 'Wrong Club', and the chorus is glorious! Makes us want to go to ‘the wrong club’ right now, and make an eye-popping departure.
