New Music: Sean Kingston - 'Rum and Raybans'
Jamaican singer Sean Kingston is back with a new single called "Rum and Raybans" featuring British pop star Cher Lloyd that is taken from his upcoming album "Back 2 Life", due in stores either in late 2012 or early 2013 via Epic Records...but taking into account all the delays (that translates into lack of belief by his label), and the fact that the new single is...just okay, who knows!
'Rum and Raybans' officially premiered on Miami's Y100 radio on Monday (October 15) but since no one ripped it (since apparently no one cares anymore 'bout Sean Kingston), it was the Jamaican singer who had to premiere himself the audio via a SoundCloud account. What was Epic Records' promotion team doing at the time?...I just don't know! In any case, 'Rum and Raybans' is a pretty disappointing effort. Nothing exciting or original about it. It's a pretty generic dance-reggae track clearly tailored for clubs but doesn't really stand out. I was hoping maybe the Cher Lloyd feature would help the song some way, giving it more radio friendliness or something, but shockingly Cher only sings a small four-line verse towards the end! Say what!? I was actually waiting for her to sing the hook or something. What a pointless feature to be honest.
