New Music: Neon Trees - "Sleeping With A Friend"
Developing feelings for a friend? That's a "no-no" in everyone's books, right? Alternative rockers Neon Trees discuss this matter, though, in their brand new single "Sleeping with a Friend". The anthemic tune is the first single from the group's forthcoming third major-label album "Pop Psychology" due in stores later this year via Mercury/Def Jam.
This is no "Everybody Talks", in terms of catchiness, but nevertheless "Sleeping With A Friend" is a sensational single. The synth-rock production is breezy and powerful when due, the lyrics are something to talk about, and vocals by frontman Tyler Glenn are raspy hot as usual. "Everybody Talks" was majorly supported by Top 40 radios in the US thanks to its super pop appeal, so hopefully the same occurs for "Sleeping With A Friend", since the new single's main targets, judging on first listen, would by Alternative and Hot AC radio.
