The 20-year-old New Yorker released today (December 23rd) a brand new Christmas-themed song titled "Gingerbread Man" online. The track, co-produced by Michael Keenan and Arthur McArthur, is available for unlimited streaming via YouTube and SoundCloud. The 'cute' photo you see above is the official artwork for "Gingerbread Man".
Although this is a Christmas-themed song (a Christmas present for her fans), don't expect "Gingerbread Man" to be bubblegum, brainless music. I mean, this is quirky, bizarre Melanie Martinez for crying out loud! "I need a gingerbread man, the one I'll feedThe gingerbread man, the one I'll eat", she sings in the chorus of the song.
For some reason I want to believe Melanie got a little inspiration from the Shrek movies to write "Gingerbread Man", ha!
