New Music: Leona Lewis - "Thunder" [Full Audio / Review]
The only confirmed release date for Leona Lewis’ upcoming fifth album “I Am” is so far the UK one, September 11th. However, that doesn’t mean the UK will be the only country where the album will be available. “I Am” is definitely going to be published in the US too. And six years after “Happy”, a Leona Lewis single is finally going to get sent to American radios… officially. Is It “Fire Under My Feet”? No. That song was the lead single for the UK. For the US her label is moving forward with a different one. What is it? The Toby Gad-produced “Thunder”. The power mid-tempo will go for radio adds in the US on July 27. And considering the fast release date for the single, September might also be the month “I Am” is out in the US.
Fingers crossed the American public will welcome “Thunder” better than the UK welcomed “Fire Under My Feet”, which only peaked at a terrible #51 position (ouch!).
Come on. I don’t really want Leona to become an independent artist. Her next singles and the album have to do well!!!!
The new single “Thunder”, which surfaced online last night (July 10) in its full HQ version, is a power mid-tempo that speaks about a girl narrating how her ex boyfriend mistreated her, didn’t give her her place, and how she is now stronger than ever and that she will teach that boy a lesson in taking care of another person. It’s a good song (very in the line of Leona Lewis), the chorus is real nice and hopefully the US will still appreciate LeLew’s talent.
