New Music: Kristinia DeBarge - 'Cry Wolf'
Kristinia DeBarge - who scored a US Top 20 hit in 2009 with "Goodbye" - returns to the music scene after 3 long years of silence with the release of a new single on iTunes called "Cry Wolf" (available now!) which Kristinia - according to the iTunes info - is putting out independently, so I assume her contract with Island is dunzo...Nothing surprising though! Listen to "Cry Wolf" above, and PURCHASE it if ya like!
"Cry Wolf" is a pretty generic bubblegum pop song, but it's cute. By the way, when I was playing the song for the first time, I swear that based on the very first seconds, I was like: 'Wait? Did I just download Rihanna's "Take a Bow" off iTunes accidentally?". LOL. I swear to God I was singing "How about a round of applause, A standing ovation" in the first seconds of "Cry Wolf". The melody and beat is very similar there!...Don't you think?. In any cayse, as I said, "Cry Wolf" is a cute song, but keeping it honest, it's going to be quite difficult to see it chart on the Hot 100 or even on iTunes' Top 100. It's good to have Kristinia back though. I loved her debut album, and "Goodbye" of course too. Hopefully someone at a major label spots "Cry Wolf", likes it and offers Ms Debarge a new deal so she can work on new, and better music.
