New Music: Jennifer Lopez - 'Charades' [Japan Bonus Track]
Jennifer Lopez’ new LP ‘A.K.A’ hits stores
worldwide today, June 17, and here we have for our listening pleasure the bonus
track from the Japanese edition of ‘A.K.A’. It's the song called 'Charades',
co-written by Jennifer, Qura Rankin and Tina Davis.
‘Charades’ is an urban slow-jam in which Lopez sings about the games of love or 'charades' that no one can ever win so easily. 'You think that you’re the only that ever say ‘You love me’ when it’s over’, sings an opened-hearted Jenny from the Block. ‘Charades’ fits very well the sound of ‘A.K.A’ (that is, Jennifer’s return to a more urban sound), but it’s totally understandable why this was put as a bonus track and for Japan only. It's a really so-so song that ultimately goes nowhere. There tracks on the standard and deluxe editions of ‘A.K.A’ are definitely miles better than this. So good call!
