New Music: Jasmine V (ft. Jeremih & Problem) - "One Night" [Full / Review]
After flopping with her debut EP “That's Me Right There” (despite the lead single being a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar) in late 2014, R&B singer Jasmine V gave radios the green light to world premiere her newest single "One Night" last night, March 11, meaning Insterscope Records still has confidence on the 21-year-old beautiful Californian. They’re moving forward with Jasmine V’s full-length debut album release. “One Night” is said to be the first official single from it, although she keeps referring to it as "new song", "new track" on Twitter. But I think she’s just playing the “I’mma let you think this is a buzz single at first but if it succeeds it will be my lead single but if it flops, I told you it was just a buzz single remember?” game.
"One Night" features Jeremih and rapper Problem and it’s quite a nice track actually. However, it does lack a strong chorus. Not a huge problem to me because I'm enjoying the song regardless but for the general public it may be.
Boasting a minimalist urban-ratchet production with random clapping at times, and sporadic saxophone-esque sounds, “One Night” is a sultry record that hears sweet Jasmine V asking her love interest to remain with her for a little longer because she enjoys his presence and eating mangos with him. The usual.
