New Music: Havana Brown - "Warrior"
Havana Brown had a moment of international success last year's summer with the RedOne remix of her song "We Run The Night". The club banger - which eventually got a platinum certification in the U.S - managed to top the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart, and crack the Top 30 on the Hot 100. Radios liked Havana's song, and it was a must-play in almost all clubs during the summer of 2012 too. Nevertheless, time has passed, and after many single releases, the beautiful 28-year-old Australian lady is still to find a successful follow-up.
Ms Brown will be releasing her full-length debut album "Flashing Lights" next October 11 in Australia. Last year's "When the Lights Go Out" was just a 5-song EP, may I remind you. And she's already picked a new single. It's the Niclas Kings-produced "Warrior". Niclas Kings is the man behind productions from Kate Ryan or Agnes, and he also made Jennifer Lopez' hot track "Follow The Leader" featuring Wisin & Yandel.
It seems, though, Havana Brown's "Warrior" will be an Australia-only single. The song in its entirety hit iTunes Australia on September 27. Universal Music is said to be picking a new international, US single 'soon'. As for "Warrior", though, it's a good song. Havana's vocals in the verses definitely remind me to another artist, but I just can't figure out who. I like chorus, and that ecstatic ending beat is glorious in every epic way.
