New Music: Foo Fighters - "Congregation" [Full Audio]

foo fighters congregation cover

“Sonic Highways” is coming! The new Foo Fighters album is going to be out thanks to RCA Records on November 10th (only a few days left!) but the “countdown singles” keep coming. The latest is “Congregation”. The rock song was premiered via an audio video posted on YouTube this AM (Oct. 31) and minutes later it was made available for purchase on iTunes. “Congregation”, produced by Foo Fighters’ longtime collaborator Butch Vig, appears at the number #4 position on the tracklisting of “Sonic Highways”.

“Congregation” song review

So what is this about? Just read what Dave Grohl sings in the chorus: “Send in the congregation / Open your eyes, step in the light / A jukebox generation Just as you were”. Better? And what did Foo Fighters fan had to say online? Pedro Nascimento on YouTube wrote: “This sounds a bit like "in your honor" which to me is really "meh". It's falling towards the more commercial side of foo fighters”. Certainly agree with this fan. “Congregation” ain’t bad, it’s got a nice rock production, and Dave kills it in the vocal department but overall it’s “meh” comparing with other “Sonic Highways” tracks we’ve heard to date.
