New Music: Fences - "The Lake" [Premiere]
Indie-rock band Fences have made a new song from their forthcoming second studio album “Lesser Oceans” available for purchase on iTunes. The new album by the Seattle-based - led by Christopher Mansfield - will be released in the U.S on October 14th via Elektra Records and Warner Music. Fences may have asked Macklemore and Ryan Lewis for help for their first single "Arrows", but in the newly-released 3:23-minute-long track "The Lake", it's all Fences and no features.
"The Lake" song review
With a nostalgic indie-pop/synth production, "The Lake" is a mid-tempo track whose lyrics talk about Christopher Mansfield hoping to be alone on a boat with his girlfriend in the middle of a lake to have a deep conversation. At least that's what I understood...but it's all very open-for-many-interpretations. "At the lake / Now we're both alone / If we're talking then let's use our mouths, our mouths, our mouths", sings Christopher in "The Lake" - which is the second track on the tracklist "Lesser Oceans".
