New Music: Daughtry - "Long Live Rock & Roll"
Rock band Daughtry keep the transitioning from rock to rock/folk showing in the new promotional single from their upcoming album "Baptized" (November 19). The track is called "Long Live Rock & Roll". If you pre-order Daughtry's new album on iTunes now, you'll get this "promo single" for free. For the hesitators, the band's also giving fans the option to listen to "Long Live Rock & Roll" on their YouTube page.
"Long live big guitars and music for the soul", sings frontman Chris Daughtry in the chorus of the folk-y tune. I know there are some band fans out there who aren't that happy about their new, let's say more mainstream, sound, but if this is going to make Daughtry get back "on the map" again, and make them sell a lot, then I'm totally OK. The new music is good, anyways! This folk rock style doesn't feel that weird on them. Plus, if they chose to take this route, it's because somehow it fits them. Listen to Chris name-checking Elton John or The Beatles above.
