New Music: Bastille - "Torn Apart" [Full Audio / Review]
Wow. Now hold on for a second while I pick my jaw from the floor...OK, done. This brand new Bastille track "Torn Apart" is just one of the most amazing music gems I've heard thus far this year. Produced by Grades, this piece of rock-electronic flawlessness is the lead single from the English band's forthcoming mixtape "VS. (Other People’s Heartache p III)”, out on December 8th. The female rapper that raps towards the end of the song isn’t mentioned neither on the single’s cover nor on its iTunes page but some Bastille fans are saying her name is Lizzo. Lizzo, if that’s you, please tell us 'cause you deserve a standing ovation for that sick verse. Almost Azealia Banks level!!
"Torn Apart" is reminding of another song of another just but I just can’t get the name. It’s that use rock-electronic music that sounds so familiar. Oh well, until I recall it "Torn Apart" can also be described as a perfect blend of John Newman and 2014 La Roux. "It hurts like hell, to be torn apart”, sings frontman Dan Smith in the chorus of the new Bastille single. It’s a really cool to listen song but the lyrical content is pretty sad - not bad, sad. Dan sings about losing the love of a woman and not regretting she's gone.
Can you believe Bastille’s promised mixtape is out in December? We knew they were working on a mixtape - and that it was going to be released before their next studio album – but we didn’t know it was so advanced, virtually-finished for it to have a December 2014 release. So excited!!!
