New Music: Azealia Banks - "Heavy Metal and Reflective" [Premiere]

azealia banks Heavy Metal and Reflective cover

The full version of Azealia Bank’s new song “Heavy Metal and Reflective” has surfaced online two days before its scheduled July 29th digital release. Lucky us, right? “Heavy Metal and Reflective” is said to be a song from the Harlem-native raptress’ forthcoming full-length debut album “Broken with Expensive Taste” which should be arriving in stores later this year via the newly-found label Azealia Banks Records. Let us remember Ms. Banks parted ways – much to her happiness—with Universal Music earlier this month. As she said, she is “free” now.

Review of “Heavy Metal and Reflective”

“Heavy Metal and Reflective” is a new track produced by Lil’ Internet. The length of the song is rather short - only 2:31- and this totally has the sound of a buzz single. I don't think Azealia is that foolish to release this as an official single and/or send it to radios. I'm going to need a mainstream single from Ms. Banks soon if she really wants to put her career together again. “Heavy Metal and Reflective” possesses a hard-hitting, menacing beat courtesy of Lil’ Internet and a lot of stale rapping by Azealia. I dig her lyrics, but the stale vocals aren’t doing it for me. OK buzz single, though!
