New Music: Avicii - 'You Make Me' [Review]
Swedish DJ Avicii gets back to his original pure EDM roots in his next single "You Make Me", which exclusively world premiered (in its final, and high quality version) on Friday (August 16th) on Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 show. "You Make Me", which features vocals by Silhouettes' singer Salem Al Faki, will become the follow-up to Avicii's international monster hit "Wake Me Up", and second single from his upcoming debut album "True".
Avicii added something original to the EDM game table with "Wake Me Up", which was a brilliant and unforseen mix of country melodies and dance music. "You Make Me" is more pure EDM, more old super commercial Avicii, and although I was expecting him to keep surprising us with new EDM and other genres unexpected combinations, "You Make Me" is an amazing will-make-you-bop-at-the-club track. The beat is infectious! It took a few repeats to fully 'get' Salem Al Faki's weird high vocals on "You Make Me", but now I love the song as it is. It's catchy. My only concern is that I think Avicii should have wait some more time to release a new single. "Wake Me Up" is still doing incredible everywhere.
