“Bumper Cars” song review
These two…. they're so talented. Alex and Sierra deserve to be big one day. That’s why I’m really upset “Scarecrow” hasn’t performed as expected. Bad timing, maybe? Too many strong singles released at the same time and that hindered its options? Whatever it was, it's obvious the time of “Scarecrow” has passed and Epic Records need to pick a new single pretty soon. Could they choose “Bumper Cars”? I wouldn’t be against it as I am completely in love with the song. I mean, it’s titled “Bumper Cars”!! It’s brilliant. Are Alex and Sierra the firsts who use this term and give it such an evident yet original meaning on a song? I would assume no, but I can't think of anyone right now.
“Bumper Cars” is such a great title, and the song is everything I imagined it to be from that title. An emotional ballad where Alex and Sierra sing about being a relationship with no future because even though they fight it, they just can't help to "crash apart" (aka. fight, have differences), so their only option is to separate - although will cause great pain in their hearts, and just doesn't feel right. But they are “Bumper Cars”, they have an attraction but destiny makes them be incompatible.
Vocals by both are too beautiful and tender. The piano-driven “Bumper Cars” can totally be Alex and Sierra’s “Say Something”.
