Most popular music of 2016 (overview)
Every last day of the year, we publish our most popular music of the year charts. See 2015, 2014, 2013 and 2012. Our charts is based on the number of total views.
This year's biggest surprise is Zayn Malik, who went solo, and launched the smash hit "Pillow Talk". Less surprising is Adele who dominates the top 10 thanks to her '16 album, of which 4 tracks are in our top 10 (All I ask, Hello, When We Were Young and 25)!
2016 was definitely Charlie Puth's year, he gained huge popularity with his tracks "We Don't Talk Anymore" and "One Call Away".
Taylor Swift ("Blank Space"), Jessie J ("Flashlight") and Rihanna ("FourFiveSeconds") who were going big in '15 don't show up in this year's top 20.
Justin Bieber and Ellie Goulding J were able to continue their reign this year.
