Missy Elliott Drops New Song “Pep Rally” / Listen In Full Here!
Clever girl…! Coinciding with the TV premiere of her new commercial for Amazon Echo during the Super Bowl 50, Missy Elliott released online last night (Feb. 7) the full version of her new song “Pep Rally” – a song that is previewed in said commercial. The full song was first available for streaming/purchase on Amazon before it hit other platforms - it was a nice gesture towards the company that paid her a lot of money for a just a seconds-long cameo in their commercial, and it was a an intelligent move to release it online in full immediately after the Amazon Echo advert aired last night during the Super Bowl, for it was obvious that the millions of people watching would be googling “Pep Rally” right after seeing the commercial.

In the drum-heavy, urban “Pep Rally”, Missy wants to teach her fans a new dance move apparently. “It goes left foot, it goes right foot / It goes left foot, it goes right foot /Catch the wall, touch them toes /Turn around like it's gold / Back it up, back it up, so you know you got control”, sings the “Get Your Freak On” star.
“Pep Rally” will most likely feature – as well as the Pharrell-produced “WTF (Where They From)” – on Missy Elliott’s forthcoming seventh studio album – due in stores later in 2016 via Atlantic Records.
