Mikky Ekko Cuddles & Cries In "Smile" Music Video
A month and a few days after premiering the audio of "Smile" - the lead single from his RCA debut album "Time", in stores October 20th - Mikky Ekko (better known as the writer of Rihanna's "Stay") releases the music video on VEVO. While it is no "Stay", this folk-pop song is really cute. Unfortunately, it seems radios aren't "digging" it as its airplay is still too low. Maybe a few TV performances would help?
Filled with positive lyrics, the "Smile" music video had to go in line with this mood. Directed by Sarah Chatfield (Kelly Rowland's "Motivation"), the sunny clip sees Mikky and his on-screen girlfriend lying on a field, just passing the day smiling and cuddling and going back home on their roofless car at night time. There are scenes too where Mikky is locked up in a windowless somber room and belts out the song chorus. He even "attempts" to cry. I guess this symbolizes the powerful love he feels for his girlfriend. Oh, and don't miss the Coldplay "The Scientist"-esque first minute.
