Mike Posner - 'The Way It Used to Be' (Video)
Don't waste your time embarrassing yourself trying to get your ex-girlfriend back, when you can get it on this time with your BFF! That's pretty much the concept behind the music video for Mike Posner's "The Way It Used to Be". The summery pop tune serves as the first single from Mike's upcoming sophomore album "Pages".
I like "The Way It Used to Be". It's got laid back vibe, and a rather nice pulsating hypnotic drum beat, which I wonder who produced?. Benny Black, or Dr Luke, maybe?. Or did Mike, self-produced this?. 'Cause if he did, then he's really stepping up his game in the 'music production' department. Anyhow, and in sad news, "The Way It Used to Be" was released in early June, and most likely Mike's label selected that release time so the single would soak up some 'summer audience'. Unfortunately, "The Way It Used to Be" isn't selling on iTunes, and radios have completely dismissed Mike's new single.
So probably, premiering the music video now will be the last shot RCA will give "The Way It Used to Be" before moving on to a new single. The clip is real good. It fits well the song's lyrics, with Mike desperately asking his ex to get back together, to only realize - later in the video - she's already found another man, though. It won't all be bad news for heartbroken Mike, and his female BFF will come to his rescue in an unexpected way.
