Melody Thornton Sings US National Anthem!

Melody Thornton, former The Pussycat Dolls member, performed the US national anthem "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Los Angeles Lakers vs Clippers game at L.A's Staples Center on Sunday (January 16th) - Now that the PCD era is a thing of the past for Melody, the girl from Phoenix, Arizona is currently working in the studio on her debut solo album. If you remember, back in September 2010 a new song of hers entitled "Love Gun" leaked on the Internet. It was reported said song would become the lead single of her first album but...seems not. Just a buzz track. Ever since, no new Ms Thornton news emerged until last night, when the singer performed at the Staples Center. This 'gig' was good promotion for her! Not only did she was the main attention of millions of people watching this basketball game, but also the presenter helped her a lot. He told everyone who Melody was (former member of platinum-selling group PCD) and also informed all viewers she was recording her solo album.

As for her live rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner"...it was good but not the best performance of it I've heard. I felt like she totally screamed/shouted at some parts, but when it comes to the US national anthem, you gotta produce those 'high-notes' at the "And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air" moment in some way or the other or people will just boo you. So Melody delivered in the end. Check it out.
